Products/Services: Crash lock base bottle box
Project Background
We recently collaborated with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society to create timeless, premium product packaging. The client was looking for a high-quality box to house its iconic green whisky bottles, while also perfectly reflecting the brand.
A number of key requests shaped the approach, including folded edges for added strength, a flawless finish with no visible white edges and copper foil detailing paired with delicate embossing to reflect the Society’s recognisable logo.
Our Solution
Working closely with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, we developed a premium packaging solution, collaborating from concept through to production. This included material specification, wet proofs and digitally printed prototypes to ensure a high-quality final result.
A crash lock base bottle box was selected as the ideal format to house the whisky bottles, combining strength with a refined finish. To achieve a more luxurious aesthetic, a mix of matt and gloss varnishes were used to create subtle contrast and a tactile effect that uniform lamination cannot achieve.
To reflect the client’s premium brand story, copper foil detailing and a carefully embossed logo were applied to the face of the packaging, while a unique printed marble finish to the neck holder added a distinctive final touch.
Results and Impact
The finished packaging strikes a strong balance between premium aesthetics and practical performance. The crash lock base box provides enhanced durability and protection, ensuring the bottles are securely housed throughout transit and handling.
By opting for matt and gloss varnishes instead of lamination, the solution achieves a more considered, premium finish. From copper foil embossing to the distinctive marble neck holder, every detail has been carefully chosen to enhance the unboxing experience, increasing perceived value while protecting the product and reinforcing the Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s premium positioning.
